Garuda is a divine eagle like bird from hindu mythology who attacks the nagas or snake like creatures. To me the nagas symbolize how we often have a limited view but strike to defend it. The eagle comes in to eat the snakes which might be interpreted as our ego or pride representing the battle of becoming more aware and adpoting a larger scope.
